Palak na vada(spinach vada)
Ingredients
- 1/4 tsp cumin seeds (jeera )
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/3 tsp pepper powder
- 1 cup palak (spinach) leaves, chopped
- 1 cup Besan (Bengal gram flour )
- 1/4 tsp garlic paste
- 1/4 tsp green chilli-ginger paste
- 1/4 cup chopped coriander
- 1/3 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/3 tsp red chili powder
- oil to fry
- salt to taste
- 2 tsp semolina (rawa)
- 1 pinch soda bi-carb
- 2 cup whole wheat flour
Directions
1. Mix all the ingredients in a deep bowl along with ½ cup of water, mix well to make a batter of dropping consistency.
2. Keep aside for 15 to 20 minutes.
3. Heat the oil in kadhai, whisk the batter vigorously and put spoonfuls of batter in oil and deep-fry a few at a time on a medium flame till they turn golden brown in color from all the sides.
4. Drain on absorbent paper
5. Serve hot with green chutney or tomato sauce.
